When 3 year olds go against "older horses," it's the four and five year olds who scare me most.

Nothing against 8 year olds, but I think there are at least two in that field.

I haven't researched yet, but my inclination is to give a good exotic wagering look at the horse from Dogwood coming in with his 2nd race off a layoff.

If there's a horse I'll be playing against, it's most likely going to be the German bred in this one.

Nothing for certain yet.

Anyone betting Big Brown in that field at the price he will be needs to rethink their paramutuel involvement in the game.

How can you say that when no odds have been posted?

I couldnt imagine he would be that price. In my humble opinion, 5/2 is highest he would go.

Curlin was 2:5 against two BC Turf champs in his turf debut. Big Brown has a phony turf win on rock hard turf.

How can he realistically be above even money?

I don't know about you, but I prefer that kind of money in the pools.

.
Do not ignore Proudinsky if the course has taken a bit of rain. German-breds have to contend with soft courses quite a lot, so the horses who run in the big races must have ability in soft ground, which they pass on to their offspring. That's what gave him the edge in New Orleans.

Brown is a rockstar. Monmouth park will put on a show and there will be a good sized crowd.
Maybe even play some Springsteen.

Highly unlikely that there will be a good sized crowd. Monmouth is not going to ever get a big crowd once the summer is over. 10,000 is probably what you will get although they will come up with something a little higher for pr reasons.

Look for a much larger crowd than what you are saying.

NO WAY. The weather and the fact that nobody really cares about the race might keep it below 7500. Last weekend they got 2500, I wouldn't expect anything more than 10K. Nobody cares about Big Brown running against a bunch of grade 2 grass horses.

Now if he showed up for the JCGC, Belmont probably would get 25K for the Curlin-BB matchup.

Will you give me 8-1 odds that it is north of 10,000?

Nobody cares about Big Brown? Really? They got 17,000 plus. I told you they'd have north of 10,000. Why do you think the fans came out, just like they have in all of Big Brown's races? He is a very popular horse.
