Its different... Speed Kills..
If Blessing were in this race vs Music Note i would bet Blessing, pound her if the price was right
i guess it all comes down to me not being as high on Music Note as others, and me thinking that Indian Blessing is the best 3yr old filly around.

music note will be 1-5 if not 1-9, ppl could get silly here.
country star will be 3-1 or higher.

I dont think its fair... Proud Spell is a lot more tactical and Prefers 1 1/8.... Proud Spell would be more of a lock then Music Note. If Indian Blessing were in here, i would give her a chance to wire both of them, is that fair ?

I'm not convinced Indian Blessing wants any part of 9 furlongs and while she would hold a huge tactical advantage, she wouldn't be on my tickets.
bama was 1 1/4, who has the advantage at that distance, CLEARLY Music Note.... at 1 1/8 proud spell is much much better IMO, and overall is much much better, because she defeated her at 1 1/4

I think so, i think Music Note is overrated had dead aim on Proud Spell and could not beat her....

Why are you totally tossing out the distance, that is Music Notes best, not Proud Spells, and Proud Spell still beat her.

Music Note does not prefer 1 1/4, are you serious ?
she ran her career best race at 1 1/4
proud spell had never run the distance, and still beat her...
as well as music note being bred to go 1 1/4

Indian Blessing is a changed horse... you say yourself huge tactical advantage, i dont see how you could leave her off is she was in here, she'd have to be most likely winner going 1 1/8 with no other speed at all, now 1 1/4 is a totally different story again.

On a side note, does anyone ever remember Pletcher sending out a runner that is so hopelessly overmatched (not including the owner-choice Kentucky Derby runners?)

Feels like an owner's call.

I'm looking forward to seeing how Awesome I Am fares. Obviously she's highly unlikely to win but I think she is very much the second best horse in the race and could have a decent future.

That has to be it. Maybe he figures she could clunk up for 3rd or something... or maybe the racing office begged him to get a 5th in there to offer tri's.

He is the owner, which is the strangest thing. I agree on Awesome I Am though, ice cold $8 exacta coming up...
