Again, I must reiterate, a blog is not a reliable source of facts. Basically, if you can't find a link to an actual "article" then most likely it hasnt (d a m n apostrophes) been verified as FACT.

Again, in case somehow you still don't understand:

Blog or column: opinion of writer

Article: verified fact

I won't give up on you Danzig.

I would have played it the same way if I was in the position you were. Lets (oh, ****, forgot the apostrophe) get away from the topic of not knowing what I am talking about and change the focus to a typo on an internet forum. Great.

I dug around and found your wonderful source of knowledge and enlightenment (did I spell that right?). In the future, you would be wise not to pass off a "column" as an "article". Surely that mistake is more egregious (sp?) than subsituting Your for You're (especially when i used your earlier in the same sentence).

http://voices.kansascity.com/node/2015

In case anyone wanted the link to the "column". In case you didn't know, Danzig, a "column" is a reflection of the writer's opinion. A news article should just be fact.

if you would be so kind, go back to where i posted the first excerpt and tell me where i wrote 'news' or 'column'. you inferred i used it as news, and have gotten on a pretty high horse as a result.

here, so you don't have to go back and find it, i cut and pasted it:

this is from yesterday, i googled 'barack obama bush tax'. this came up first on the list...an excerpt:

Obama has change of heart about Bush tax cuts as polls favor McCain

By Ross Balano, Midwest Voices Columnist 2008

Democrat presidential candidate Barack Obama had a change of heart yesterday about one of his major campaign issues; the Bush Tax Cuts.

The Associated Press quotes Obama as now saying that “he would delay rescinding President Bush's tax cuts on wealthy Americans if he becomes the next president and the economy is in a recession, suggesting such an increase would further hurt the economy.”

Two things struck me about this comment.

First; he uses the term increase. This is the first time I’ve heard him admit that rescinding the Bush cuts would in reality be a tax increase.

Second; he admits that an increase would hurt the economy.

For about as long as he has been running for president, which seems like forever, Obama has been preaching the woes of the Bush Tax Cuts. For those of you in Alma, those are the tax cuts pushed through congress by President Bush that Obama and fellow Democrats claim were “tax breaks for the rich” and are “shrinking the middle class.” Repealing that work of the evil Bush administration was “job one.” So why the change of heart?

If you think Republicans are on your side in economic matters, then you really shouldn't bring up the word intelligent. If you were against abortion, wanted prayer in school, and wanted vouchers for kids to have the choice to go to private schools, then you would make a lot more sense. Atleast you would know why you routinely vote against your own best economic interests. Economically, you think like most of the necks around you. You don't agree with their social values, but on economic matters you're as backward as they are. You're out of place there, and you would probably feel a little out of place with people who embrace your particular social values. They don't square up. That's why you can't find anybody to support whole-heartedly in elections. Most people aren't like you.

i don't think anyone is on my side. those folks only say/ do what they think will get them elected. my best bet economically is for the govt to stay the hell out of my pocket. i pay federal and state income tax, and then property tax, and also personal property tax. on top of that, sales tax in most communities here is 10.5%. it's ridiculous. as is the fact that pulaski county schools (for example) pay over 5k per year PER STUDENT to the school district. where do they get all that? wouldn't vouchers and private school work better? and if thinking everyone should go to work (like i do) and pay for themselves (like i do) and not think social security can be relied on someday when the time comes, then i guess i am backward. so be it.
but i sure would appreciate if you give me another example of a social program i pay for that helps my quality of life.

I didn't say you called it news. I merely pointed out that you obviously don't know the difference.

you wrote this:

i would say that telling me not to 'pass off' something is the same as 'calling it'. or is that taken out of context?
