what i read is the packers took favre at his word and moved on to a point they couldn't turn back when he changed his mind (again).
I hate Favre and he's to blame for the Packers ever using a draft pick on Rodgers in the first place but this whole part to me sounds totally like the coach is saying he is only in charge of the players he has on the team and the GM determines who is on that team and even though he doesn't agree with who that GM put on the team, he's not going to say anything bad, but you can connect the dots.

I'm coaching the football team. At some point, when you get involved in situations that are at an organization level, then everybody's responsible for their part. Ted is responsible for the whole football operation. I'm ultimately responsible for the football team. Decisions have to be made on factual information, and I think if you just go out there and connect the dots, you can answer your own question. I'm going to stay on the high road with this thing. Obviously, I'm not in agreement with a lot of things that have been said or will continue to be said.

i don't read it that way at all. i think you're supposed to connect the dots back to favre being indecisive.

why would you think he'd bury his gm and not the guy that plays on another team? win or lose, he's the coach of the packers. i've seen no public wedge between him the gm before now. why do you think he'd start that?

Cause he doesn't have much faith in Rodgers and wants a fallback excuse if they suck this year. I happen to think Rodgers will be very good.
