equal pay for equal work sounds wonderful...problem is, everyone thinks they work hard, when in fact many don't. then there's experience levels...in other words, many reasons why people make what they do. our free market takes care of itself, and needs in many cases less intervention rather than more from the govt. new programs cost new money-where will he find that. i'd love to have a leader come in and promise to be better caretakers of our wealth, and to make an immediate and lasting attempt to cut all the fraud, waste and abuse we have nationwide. hospitals in cali (for example) were taking in homeless folks, saying they had diseases they didn't have, 'running tests', etc, and billing the dogmess out of medicaid, medical....we're talking hundreds of millions of dollars in those instances alone. that's outrageous. cut the waste, and we'd have more money for legitimate needs. the pork needs to go, the line item veto needs to be instituted. robert byrd doesn't need any more buildings named after him, he has plenty in west va for his legacy. more teachers with higher salaries...wonderful. i saw that one of the districts here in ark gets over '$5k per student each year to teach them. that's an obscene amount of money. and we have smaller classes than in years' past, and more teachers' aides to help with less per class. ridiculous. and we don't have the grades/act scores to show that our public school system is working, even with all the additional staff to teach our kids. exactly how is he going to give tax cuts to all, and boost spending? just what we need, more govt. that's my #1 issue with democrats, too much revenue redistribution. take from the haves, give to the havenots. pretty soon more haves will be joining the latter group. the have nots want what i have ? do like me and my husband, get your ass to work like we do, and you'll have it too.
