Homosexuality has been noted in a number of species...generally more likely to occur in species close on the evolutionary scale to man (ie: the great apes), however it has been noted by researchers in dolphins, penguins, American bison, cattle, and sheep (bad news for Papa).

Homosexuality is quite common in the animal kingdom (and more so in the wild than in zoos, though why I have no idea). I think it's just another example of "biological exuberance," to borrow the title of the textbook on homosexuality in animals.

In fact, it was the zoo I work at that gave a fertilized egg to a pair of male penguins and they hatched and raised the chick themselves. Animal gay adoption? Tee hee. The Daily Show did a pretty funny segment on it.

If it's between consenting adults, whatever "it" might be, s'all okay with me. I'm just not all that interested in what's going on in anyone's bedroom except my own.

Same here GR.
Heck, if I had a web cam in mine, I'd be refunding money...all that sleeping don'tchaknow. And if anyone thinks that they'll get pictures of *****, they'll find out what my cat looks like.
She sleeps a lot too. Prrrrrr.

Now back to the story about Karr...something really stinks about that one. The stories don't jive.
Do you think this was arranged so that he could avoid prison in Thailand?
For sure he'll be treated better in an American jail.
We'll just have to see how this shakes out.

DTS,

My hubby and I were talking about this last night. We were wondering if he had done something over there (Thailand) and admitted to this so he could be brought back over here. But I haven't heard of him being charged with anything over there so I don't think that may be a reason he has admitted to this crime.

I'm curious as to his motives, too... heaven knows the child sex trade is alive and well in some Southeast Asian nations, but I don't know if Thailand is one of them. Well, I'm sure we'll get to read a lot about it in the press in the next few weeks...

Does anyone know what the penalties for falsely confessing to a crime are?

So now they say he knew things no one could know about the body but still the other stuff doesn't jibe. Do you suppose he knows the real killer, got details and claimed it for himself? He really is a strange bird. Sounds like he was booted out of everywhere for "being too affectionate" with the kids.

Buffy and GR,
I don't know if he's been charged. If I recall, he was charged with something in Thailand. We'll just have to see how it shakes out.
GR..filing a false confession? Don't know. Didn't about 200 people claim to have kidnapped the Lindbergh baby back in the 30's?
If I was Roman Catholic, I'd probably be able to make a priest blush with some outrageous "false confession"...but I'm sure they've heard lots.

Anyway, this "case" seems to have grabbed the headlines for a while.
We'll see.

I agree with you about American bison. They are as queer as they come. They practically swish when they walk.
