I'll say there's no reason for you to call Dutrow a name like that. Look at what he has accomplish after a rough life. look at his grade 1 wins purse money, etc.. Do you know him personally? If not they statment is out of line. Sure he is loud big mouth, boastful, however he does back up most of his talk with performances he gets out of his horses. Why is there so much hate for a man that nobody on the website even knows personally. |

All you guys are hard core racing fans. Are you going to alter your day to make sure you'll be able to watch Big Brown face a few stiffs in on the second Saturday of September?

For a horse that has won five out of six Grade 1 races including the Derby and Preakness, how is this horse so disrespected by some of you? If you want to disrespect Big Brown's connections, I get that, but this has been a very good quality horse for us to enjoy this year.
Since the Preakness (5-0), he gets so much blustering on here. Here's what happened since then: How about a pass on The Belmont? Gimme a break. Third race in five weeks and who knows why he didn't show up, just speculation. But it wasn't the same Big Brown. You don't think he would normally beat Da'Tara a horse that finished the Florida Derby when Big Brown was a zipcode past the finish line? And then there was The Haskell that hardly any on here give him credit for. His chasing down Coal Play to win is very similar to Affirmed chasing the front running Sensitive Prince in the last 100 yards in the Jim Dandy that Laz Barrera considered one of Affirmed's finest efforts. Big Brown did the same thing and gets little credit. Memo to Big Brown Bashers........."Give it a rest." |

Wasn't, by all accounts, his Haskell visually unimpressive, getting left for dead on the turn, full out and under a savage right-handed whip, before finally reeling in a tiring allowance horse while drifting out considerably through the lane? And yet, still, if you buy it, he got one of his best speed figures? Just think how good he would be with some time off and 4 good feet under him. If he stays in training (I realize the plan is to retire him at the end of the year), he could end up finishing his campaign the way Touch Gold did (see the '97 Pegasus and BC Classic). Aside from their ridiculous boasting, IEAH take a lot flack here because they are basically not doing right by Big Brown. They aren't giving him a shot to be the horse they claim he is (by not running him at 4) and his continued campaigning this year is somewhat reckless if you think he has significant physical problems (namely his quarter crack). |

QUOTE] Haskell victory was quite impressive. It proved he could win from behind, something he never needed to do. And if you are going to use the "savage right-handed whip card" then you might as well include the majority of other champions in the same breath. |

Puleeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeea se. The guy is the son of a great horsemen and had a shot to follow in his footsteps. Not too many get the luxury to be brought up and learn from a guy like Dick Dutrow. Rick was a degenrate gambler/drug addict who got that "rough life" all on his own. He has nobody to blame but himself for his pitfalls. The guy has ZERO respect for others in the game...he has ripped Assmussen...David Carroll....what he did in The Whitney yrs ago to make sure St Liam won was ridiculous. Gary Contessa, who I am not a fan of, said it perfectly "At a time when he could be doing something good for the sport, he is doing the exact opposite". This was mentioned during the whole steroid talk when Dutrow was suppose to go in front of Congress. What does knowing him personally have to do with anything? All you have to do is listen to him and follow along to know what he is all about. |

I like his brashness, he's different and many of the trainers today do exactly the same things he does, except his problems was brought to the front with the triple crown coverage. Question? Has Curlin been on steriods for last 3 years? |

What does Curlin being on steroids have to with Dutrow being a fat pig ? If fat pig is too harsh how about fat loudmouth? Is that better ? |
