It's a release of frustration from walk off losses on 8/5...8/9...8/10...That's why they are so happy. I think they got lucky to win this, but they were pretty unlucky in the Frisco game Sunday. I knew they didn't deserve that loss. So, this finally got that taste out of their mouths. I have no idea why Manuel gave us these pitchers in the 8th and 9th. What did I tell ya Scuds?? We lose those types of games.
My neighborhood had a blackout last night, so I had to listen to the end on the radio while I was in bed, but I already knew teh ending once Durbin got the hill. PATHETIC. Chuckles, with his mastermind substitions, cost us another one. If he had half a brain, Madson then Lidge, esp. the way he was mowing you guys down. For him, it IS just a hatrack. Typical Philly fashion. I think thats why our city is so fat, we are starving for a championship, so we turn to gluttonous tactics in an attempt to take our minds off of it. (that along with the NUMEROUS outlets of outstanding grub.) You witnessed first hand last night why we do Eagles chants at the Phillies games, because we subliminally know the Birds are our closest shot to ever hoisting a trophy. (As much as Bon Jovi thinks otherwise, the Soul doesnt count) I hope you enjoyed what we've come to know as 'facts of life' last night.

William Penn is looking down on us with a big grin saying I told you so. I feel bad for my dad and other long time fans that have been put through this living hell. I'm surprised they come back year after year. (my dad, from watching so many games, can tell you in the first 5 minutes of the Eagles game, whether or not we are going to win or not. Its a sick trait that seems to never fail) and dont get him started on 'Fat Andy'. I love him and both him and my uncle can't stand him. It makes for some SERIOUS arguments at family functions. With that said. take a trip to Vegas and get those odds for the Birds to win the NFC   . This is our bounce back year and no other team really looks scary in the NFC. This is the year to make the wager on us to get back to, not win, the Bowl.

The Phillies find more ways to blow games I have no idea how they do it! The Sixers may actually have some hope.. I am 25 years old now, I wonder if by the time I'm 50 if we'll have a real title, maybe once I can see a parade! I would like to see it happen soon for my Dad too! The poor guy we've had season tickets to the Birds since I was 6 (700 level at the Vet too!!) but we can't see a champion team. I really hope McNabb stays healthy this year and some receivers step up... I feel for Westbrook he has to carry the whole team! It will also be interesting to see how our linebackers do. I say 11-5, win the East, win the NFC, lose to any team from the AFC. I like Reid too, my Dad and bro have mixed feelings. I agree with my father on the fact that Reid does not make good offensive play calls. We shouldn't have a 75/25 pass to run ratio like in years past. We should run the ball much more often... its not like Westbrook sucks or anything. Buckhalter is a good backup also. Its time to play some real football. I'm excited (since I live in Florida now) that I'll be home for the Birds vs. Skins game at the Link. But win or lose, I'll always  the Eagles. Cant help it.

Enjoy the Eagles game, dont fall into the sterotype of annebriated buffoon that we can't shake off for the life of us.

Well, I know this Dodger team pretty well. I wouldn't freak out about the fact that ya got shut down after ya got 6 off our troubled has-been starter(BTW don't get too excited about getting 6 off him, because he has been this bad for a while now, and nobody knows what to do with him.) We often give up a lot of runs early, and try the rest of the game to fight back. Our pitchers can hold a team down as we do this(so don't be too distressed about "hanging around doing nothing" as the DODGERS COME BACK.) This is why this team is the biggest tease in sports history. They are just good enough to be Entertaining. It was 6-4 thru 7 1/2 innings. The Diamondbacks had lost. We didn't have to win this game. We would have easily taken the loss, and stayed 1 game back in the standings. This ain't about the Dodgers. This is about Charlie Manuel's decision to take a guy out that owned us in 2 innings of work. He didn't want to use him for 3 more outs. I'll never understand that. The guy was on a sick roll. For God sakes man, he threw a fantastic pitch to strike Manny out in the 7th. Vin Scully was amazed that Manuel took Matson out.."The Dodgers must feel thoroughly grateful to see Matson taken out." See, the Dodgers can't hit good pitching very much at all. Manny and Eithier can slap something in a hole or something. The rest are gunna make outs. I know we can't hit the duck n' dive float like bird stuff that Matson/ Lidge have. You think Kent could knock those 2 runs in the 8th in against that stuff? Nope. Nomar can't hit good pitching at all. So, let me know (when you listen to local sports shows etc. today) if you find out Charlie's reasoning for what he did. 2 out of the 3 guys he used in the 8th -9th were somehat beaten by us the night before. Sometimes these managers get into trouble by trying to give guys a quick chance to redeem themselves. I've never understood that reasoning, but it appears to be a very popular way that managers fck up with(Torre has done it repeatedly with Andruw in big clutch situations etc.)
