It's not like they were 3-13 last year, looking like it was going to be another lousy season and it was time for a change. Plus, they drafted Brian Bhrom, so there is a plan C if they ended up losing Rodgers after this season. But if the Packers genuinelly don't want him, then trade him and do something helpful for the team. Why pay a first ballot Hall of Famer and the face of the franchise 13 million to hold a clipboard when you can get maybe a first round pick? How fair is it to Rodgers to have Farve on the bench? You would think that there would be groans for Farve everytime Rodgers does anything wrong. It's not fair at all. If they don't think he is good enough to lead them to a title, then why should it matter where he plays? Let him play for the Vikings and then you should be able to eat him up twice a year. It's a no win for everyone, the organization, Farve and the fans who want him. Personally if it was my decision, #4 would be taking the snap from center on opening day.
It's all about accountability. I can't say what you wrote is wrong, but Favre, Thompson, the organization...someone has to stick to their word at some point or no one is believable. And obviously Favre ain't the guy doing that.

Rodgers may suck...no one knows, but for 3 years, he and the Packers have been put through the Favre return/retire drama and enough was enough. If they let Favre come back, they 1) Lose Rodgers mentally forever, 2) Allow Favre to be bigger than the team , 3) Change the direction of the offense and everything that was installed for Rodgers...he's a totally different QB than Favre..mobile, conservative, etc.

Favre isn't going to be on the bench..he will take his $25 Million and walk or accept a trade. But why isn't anyone slamming him for refusing to play for the two teams that want him...Jets and Bucs? I thought he "just wanted to play football"??? Guess not..

I am soooooo sick of his posturing and whining...The Packers as an organization are totally getting f*cked by him and at this point it's a business decision, nothing else

They are built to win now. Maybe they can do with Rodgers, but you saw how far they got with Brett last year ( I understand that they were a very good overall team and it was not just Brett). The Vikings still don't have a QB, the Bears offense is still in shambles and then you have the Lions. So they should still win the division (probably with Rodgers too). But in the NFL it is all about now. Would you sacrafice Rodgers for a trip to the Super Bowl this year? Farve is already bigger than the team, despite what everyone wants to believe. Am I saying that is right, no. But lets call a spade a spade here. And the team already knows the offense that took them to the NFC title game last year, so how hard can it be to reinstall it after what 1 week of camp? Farve has definatley tarnished his legacy a bit with this crap that he has pulled. But, if he had a news conference today saying he was sorry for what he did. Admiting that he never wanted to play in Minnesota (which would probably be a lie). And wanting to finish what they came so close to doing last year. You would have to be crazy not to take him back. As far as Rodgers goes, lets just say Brian Bhrom was very highly touted in college.

There.....was no bigger Brett Favre supporter than me. And that is true since I saw his first touchdown at Lambeau 16 years ago. My college roommate's brother was his WR for 3 years, I've played golf with him, had dinner with him...whatever..you know what I'm trying to say. But his hypocrisy, IMO, is unforgiveable here. I said it a long time ago in this thread...it's impossible to 1) Figure out what REALLY is going on and 2) Come to an agreement on previous...so..I state my case and understand other opinions

and I love The Odd Couple
