Do you think if Pletcher started out with another "bad" meet at the Spa, and it was going that way -- don't you think Gomez would have plenty of other trainers to ride for? Top trainers? First call horses?

I agree with that Eric but isnt that what happened last year? Yes, he got plenty of other trainers and he was getting plenty of horses for top trainers but he wasnt getting first call of the best of the best like you would expect from a Ron Anderson client. It seems like he was the guy in all of the barns but he wasnt getting the best of everything and leaving the rest for everyone else like he had been doing (or like he does out west).

I don't think it was that much different. I think the situation was very unique vis a vis Pletcher, Johnny, etc. Gomez has a different kind of business model as far as I am concerned. It's certainly a different model than Bailey. But, with that in mind, look at what happened when Ron took over Bailey's book. He took the top jock in the country -- where would you go from there? LOL. Think about what Ron did when he took on Bailey.

Anyway, I think the Gomez business model is successful. Without getting the top horse in the top barns, and of course that cuts both ways, he'll still be top 3 of money won or extremely close to it absent some distortions.
