Mananan Mclir, 9, pulled up, vanned off in his 10th race this year. A week later was transported to Tranquility Farm. He was xrayed and has "blown Suspensory" Hopefull this hard knocking guy will live out his years in comfort.

Argh, hope it works out for him. He was a key single for me in a Magna 5 score earlier this year.

I'm so pleased it has worked out this way for him. He will definitely be a happy boy now....I wondered how he would do in a pasture, he just loves to be at the track and running. This will give him an excellent job. He is another old gray gentleman that will keep the youngsters calm and show them the ropes.
My hat is off to the McPeeks for all they have done and realizing he would be so much more happier at the barn.

NY fans will be happy to hear the "Affair in the Air" who is now 9 or 10 is at CANTER Ohio and they are trying to place him. A woman from a horseback riding/horseshow board, in considering buying him.
Affair was a longtime mainstay in the NYRA tracks.

Cabinet racecourse career over

Racing Post staff

CABINET has had to have his racecourse career curtailed after suffering from a heart problem.

The Grand Lodge colt had done extremely well over the winter and was expected to make up into a Listed and Group race performer this season but his only slice of action in his four-year-old campaign waswhen landing a gamble when beating Eradicate a neck at Nottingham in April.

Owned by the Royal Ascot Racing Club, Cabinet won three of his eight starts and picked up over £45,000 in prize money.

Alex Smith, spokesman for the owners, said: “It's very sad but Cabinet has been retired after he was found to have a heart valve problem. He's just being reassessed but it's a condition that won't go away and we are looking for a good home for him.”
