How many times does this happen versus a fixed race. I have no idea but would think that latter happens more.

Opinions?

I guess it depends on your definition of a fixed race.

My guess is you are completely wrong.

A fixed race would be Carlos Montalvo pulling up before the wire on Spring Training at Prarie Meadows about 3 weeks ago.

I would think if a race is fixed so a horse won't win, the jockey would do so long before the wire.

I would too. Buit that ride was pretty bad late as he stopped riding hard for 3-4 strides. More likely incompetence than anything else. PRM 6/9 race 4.

Thumbs up

I once had a teller fail to "shut off" after the start.

The favorite broke on top by 3 lengths, so I put $2 show on it.

He did the same thing in the race on 5/26.

I believe that was the race Montalvo was suspended for. Joel Cambell rode him on 6/9.

I'm not saying I know how much but do remember once going to the paddock at the Big T in my younger days to bet on the five. As the jockey on his horse passed he looked directly at the guy next to me and his hands moved to the side indicating "7" to the guy. I looked at the guy next to me who smiled and looked just like the jockey.

The seven won by five lengths.......and so did I

I'm sold. Racing is rigged.

Time to start playing backgammon in the park for a living.

You're right, they could just check behind a horse or two. Spring Training led from the start though. Montalvo did get suspended.

Not to get off subject too much, but here is the story:

If the stewards don't believe him, isn't two weeks a bit light?
