i started following hockey in the early 80's when the mighty islanders made their run of 4 in a row, almost 5. i've followed the devils too, especially after martin brodeur arrived. i was at both caps-islander games when the islanders took the caps out of the playoffs in washington 2 years in a row. one of those was the 4 1/2 OT game. billy smith in goal crushed the caps both years. since the strike and the new tv contract i rarely watch or follow.
