Perhaps it is irresponsible...but it is legitimate to do so. Very few athletes that have used performance enhancers come out and say they did and in fact most vehemently deny it. Torres saying she is clean and testing clean simply is that. I hope she's clean. However, a 41 year old swimming her best times in her life when she was world class over 20 years ago, just doesn't seem right. I don't think it is a huge problem for Forde to bring that up. Bonds broke the HR record simply through hard work if you ask him...and to a large extent, Bonds is right. But not completely.
Coach Pants insinuating that swimming is a clean sport is hilarious. Gary Hall has been involved in competetive swimming for a long time also. Ask him if he thinks anyone has used in the sport.
