Cabinet racecourse career over Racing Post staff CABINET has had to have his racecourse career curtailed after suffering from a heart problem. The Grand Lodge colt had done extremely well over the winter and was expected to make up into a Listed and Group race performer this season but his only slice of action in his four-year-old campaign waswhen landing a gamble when beating Eradicate a neck at Nottingham in April. Owned by the Royal Ascot Racing Club, Cabinet won three of his eight starts and picked up over £45,000 in prize money. Alex Smith, spokesman for the owners, said: “It's very sad but Cabinet has been retired after he was found to have a heart valve problem. He's just being reassessed but it's a condition that won't go away and we are looking for a good home for him.”
