Jesse Helms, a vile, hate-filled, obstructionist faux 'patriot' is dead. Sickeningly being mentioned with Adams and Jefferson because he died on the 4th. I would strongly disagree with your contention that Jefferson and Adams would have despised Helms. How did you possibly come to that conclusion? Jefferson and Adams were slave owners. Helm's racial views were probably tame compared to Jefferson and Adams.

Helms was not a hypocrite like many of these Democrats. Actions speak louder than words. Half of these deomocrats talk about race all day and yet they they would never put someone of color in a position of power. Helm's press secretary was black. In addition, he had another African-American on his staff. As I said, actions speak louder than words.
