I believe Siphon had more to do with Cigar's defeat than Dare and Go
that hot pace cooked his little swimmers too
made him sterile

Man, I can still see Cigar hesitate going into the gate and his tounge was tied down..

Dare and Go paid over $80

ok, what was the name of the horse that Dale Cordova was riding when he hit Cigar across the nose with his whip and Cigar got mad and took off and won the Oaklawn handicap ?

the name of the horse escapes me
I'm thinking Green Goblin or Silver Surfer
in any event an OK-bred gelding
does not beat Cigar! nor should it's jockey

perhaps...silver goblin?

and 25 years ago yesterday, john henry won the inaugural running of the arlington million over the Bart. most thought that john henry had come oh so close, but that he had lost. even the Barts owners were headed to the winners circle. OOPS! the racing gods gave the old gelding a bit of a nudge, and he just reached the wire first. what a race.

I loathe it when the race is not official
and the connections start heading towards
or are actually in the winner's circle
man that infuriates me
and it's never because I'm holding their horse
it's always the other way around
but Danzig it was supposed to be a trivia question
like who did John Herny beat by a nose in the 1st Mill
see how I did it?
