I was once a 12 handicap at my best when I played quite a bit...not great, but I've played hundreds of rounds of golf (cut back significantly and the one or two times I go out per year are not pretty and can't get out of the 90s any more.) I don't think it affected him all that much. I saw a large chunk of his shots on the weekend...not today, but he seemed ok to me.

No, I know quite a bit about swinging a golf club and how the follow through affects your swing. I've played with a really bad back and my game wasn't that affected. He was hurt, but I really don't think he shoots 15 under if his knee is perfect.

I was wrong. I am so sorry to all. I have walked 54 holes in one day carrying my own bag in a snowstorm with all 18 holes up hill off of a nose blowing. does that count??

Like Coach pointed out, walking 91 holes on a grueling US Open course, against the best players in the world is a little different than playing 18 with your buddies w/ a bad back, especially since his knee was not healing like Tiger thought it would.. to the point he didnt even walk 18 holes til the first round (which I pointed out earlier).

I dont think anyone was shooting 15 under.. I think he would have had a much easier time winning if he was healthy and had been able to prepare for the golf tourney in a more conventional manner. ( I bet he could have shot 5 or 6 under).

I watched both of his weekend rounds in its' entirety, and he almost fell to the ground in pain a couple times immediately after making contact, and he was limping around the back nine saturday. I just think there is no possible way that the knee did not affect his swing. It was raw ability and unfathomable mental toughness that willed Tiger to victory.

I really believe we witnessed one of the greatest victories ever in a major championship this week.

I personally dont know what hurts more.

But Backs and necks can be totally debilitating.
Knees seem to be associated with the sports that
require running. But bad backs... I dont imagine
you can even turn on the ball.

Have to refer to Kev who has probably had both
knees and back. I know he had neck problems.

Rocco has had horrible back problems.

Had my few shares of injuries....3 fractures in my neck, back surgery, sciatica, a hip out of joint. I used play 15 times a month, but I went from Nov. 2004 to June of 2007 where I didn't play 10-15 times in that 2.5+ years. Needless to say, wasn't a very enjoyable time frame in my life.
