![]() Kevin,
I bet you liked that commercial (I know I did) with Earl Woods talking while they are showing clips of Tiger from all ages.. and at the end he says "I told Tiger that he will never meet a person who is as mentally tough as he is, and he never has, and he never will." Seems pretty fitting for this week doesnt it. |

Not a bad little player. Triple career grand slam now...won them all at least 3 times at age 32. He may just have a future.

If you really believe that your follow through does not affect your swing.. then you must have never played golf before. Unreal. |

No, I know quite a bit about swinging a golf club and how the follow through affects your swing. I've played with a really bad back and my game wasn't that affected. He was hurt, but I really don't think he shoots 15 under if his knee is perfect. (man...a rare time I agree with Morty and I still get roasted!!!)

Like Coach pointed out, walking 91 holes on a grueling US Open course, against the best players in the world is a little different than playing 18 with your buddies w/ a bad back, especially since his knee was not healing like Tiger thought it would.. to the point he didnt even walk 18 holes til the first round (which I pointed out earlier). I dont think anyone was shooting 15 under.. I think he would have had a much easier time winning if he was healthy and had been able to prepare for the golf tourney in a more conventional manner. ( I bet he could have shot 5 or 6 under). I watched both of his weekend rounds in its' entirety, and he almost fell to the ground in pain a couple times immediately after making contact, and he was limping around the back nine saturday. I just think there is no possible way that the knee did not affect his swing. It was raw ability and unfathomable mental toughness that willed Tiger to victory. I really believe we witnessed one of the greatest victories ever in a major championship this week. |

![]() 2 days in a row, the guy needed a 4 on a par 5 to win the U.S. OPEN, and couldn't do it. There is no doubt that he played (for his ability) incredibly well, but he doesn't have the game to be a major champion. People don't realize it, but Tiger did the game a huge favor by making sure it took a major talent to win a major golf tournament. By "doesn't have the game," I am mainly talking about length. Rocco's length hurt him. It is a flaw(sorry, Kev.)

Larry Nelson, Hale Irwin, Jose Maria Olazabel, Lee Janzen, Nick Faldo, Curtis Strange, etc, you could go on forever. Even Zach Johnson who won the Masters last year is not a long hitter. You go 90 holes dead even with Woods you have the game to be a major champion. He isn't though.
