Still, I've been more than a bit surprised that he hasn't had a bit more success this meet.

Then again, Inez Karlsson doesn't end up any many good ones, but she seems to be doing just fine.
Geroux was riding 1st call for Mott, which was making those horses not be anywhere near the board. They switched to Campbell/Douglas... and those same horses are now hitting the board with regularity (not all wins, but at least getting a check).

He might be the worst jockey I have ever seen in my young life. Danush Sukie is BETTER. and might I say, and this is going to take alot to type.

SHANE LAVIOLETTE might be better. MIGHT

and I'd probably have to agree with the Lav comment. I also liked that Borque horse bet down... as I was on the winner of that race and was pleased with the higher payout than what it should have been.

The 4th race cost me about 10k yesterday as I would have hit the first 6 races with P3's, all in the range of $6 and $12 tickets, multiple multiple times. I had that 8 singled in that race, and Graham just closed very very strong....

money to be made in the 9th today (if stays on turf).... Geroux on 3-1 favorite (and since ML fav, will have alot of dumb $$ on it).
I'll take the 5.

I started out on fire over there yesterday (cleaned up the first 5 races)... then blew that longshot, overlooked the PP's that showed the horse had a poly speed number 20 higher a few races (think 3) back than anything in the field. cost me the $400 exacta and $818 double, as I hit Douglas on OBGYN the race before and had the Asmussen horse that came in 2nd. Dumb mistake that's unexcusable for a handicapper like me.

While I see where you're going with this line of reasoning, it's not like Mott has exactly been a livewire so far. Mott has been sending out, up to this point, a fair number of horses who were tosses not thanks to Geroux, but thanks to the fact that they weren't good enough in the spot they were in. Geroux didn't cause the vast majority of Mott's lack of success early in the meet, not by a longshot.

I'd be willing to wager that for as awful as he's being made to seem here, that you wouldn't need more than one hand to count his "bad" rides this meet, which is as many hands as you'd need for any run-of-the-mill Laviolette Saturday.

Speaking of which, what has happened to Tony Farina, now that the only trainer who would put him up on decent horses is off the track? His pictures of Biancone with an owner's wife (the only reason I can think of for him being the go-to jock for a major stable) don't have the value they used to.

watch his ride in the 9th. He was dead last going into the first turn, with only one horse within about 3-4 lengths of him.... and had to pull up??? That's horrible. If they're 3-4 wide in front of you and you get caught and have to pull up, that's one thing... but with only 1 horse even within range, having to pull up is awful.

That ride WOULD make Shane look good, which is not easy to do.

I wasn't even there, but I heard it was one for the ages in terms of rides.

I got invited to be a fill in for 12" softball, nothing like baseball. Although I held my own, not sure if I really feel these 24 to 20 games....
