Certainly getting left didn't help, and the way Castellano put him in behind horses, instead of staying in the clear, must have been by instructions, but Unbridled's Heart sure had nothing.

The final time was so fast that I find it hard to believe that the track hasn't changed. Either that or Mint Lane just emerged as the best 3YO in the country. It will be interesting to see the other dirt race times.....oh yeah there's only one....a very weak field of maiden claimers going 6F. Tough race to make a figure for.

I was thinking before the race that any time under 1:44 would be pretty remarkable.

Officially - Mint Lane by 5 3/4. Unbridled's Heart beaten 6 1/2 on the wire.

There's only one more dirt race and that is a crappy NYB maiden claimer. I missed the first quarter of the race and was wondering why Castellano had Unbridled's Heart on the inside on Admirality and behind Mint Lane.

Certainly looked as though the horse didn't enjoy the dirt in his face..

When he stayed inside, it looked like they were in trouble. If he had horse, he probably takes the outside route.

You have to wonder if it was by design as it was a curious move. Maybe they wanted to see how he would react to rating and getting dirt in his face.

He didn't like it.

How long until someone tells us the rail is dead? Of course, maybe it is. Hard to tell with only four dirt races. I'll have to look at the first two again. The first sure played outside.

I'm not a horse but I know I hate it when I get dirt kicked in my face. It was a learning experience. This horse should be better next time out. Plus Mint Lane is a good horse and there is no shame finishing 2nd to him at this point in UH's career.

He was also third. On the face of it this was a very disappointing effort. Yes, he was spotting a lot of experience, but he was supposed to be the real deal. Judging from today that doesn't appear to be the case.

If you think Admirality looked good then Unbridled's Heart looked good as well. As of now I wasn't thrilled with either effort. However, maybe Mint Lane suddenly became Big Brown II. If you don't think the track changed then his raw number is probably the highest any 3YO has run this year.

I don't think that is fair to Harlem Rocker. HR might just not be a polytrack horse. Unbrideled's Heart was very green but no real excuses.

The winner might be a really nice horse, which makes me think Casino Drive might be a freaky horse. The sad thing is he might not race on dirt again this year, so we will have no idea how good he is.

I was on the phone with my boss aka "my wife", out of all the times she has to call and give me things to do it had to be when they were loading into the gate of race 3.

Unbridled's Heart had a more difficult trip than he did last month but he still could improve. The 3 year olds division is still suspect. The mistake I made was not taking a chance against him. I had the right idea last night but chickened out today.

Betting against Jimmy Jerkens at this current Belmont meet is hazardous to your bankroll.
