The chestnut colt did not go to the track Friday morning because connections were concerned with a potential injury to his left hind leg. "We were not happy with the way his hind leg was moving," Nobutaka Tada said. "That's the reason he didn't go to the track." If they don't go to the track the day before a 12f race they are likely scratch. The Japanese are very cautious. If there wasn't a really good horse in there than they might considering running him, but he probably couldn't beat Big Brown if he was 100%

All of the reports on his works haven't been very positive and not just because of the slow time. What a shame if he is injured and has to scratch.

I hope he still runs, but if he doesn't, I'll really have to laugh at the fact that the 419,238 threads about this horse's chances in the race were even more pointless than most of us thought previously.

Is it possible that this might cause some to revisit the idea of waiting to see who is actually competing in a race before they decide on their bets? Sadly, I suspect the answer is "no."
