Please refer to Last Season, The. And "ship his ass outta here" re: Andrew Bynum, and trying to run away like a bitch from a playoff team because they weren't getting him his FOURTH championship quickly enough. And elbowing defenders in the face, etc. |

It's alright Ateam, your Celtics finally know how it feels to get into the Finals. It's just to bad that Garnett is going to completely disappear here in the Finals and the Celtics will be embarrassed.
The difference between the Lakers and the Celtics is that guys like Kobe and Fisher show up for big games, and guys like Garnett, Allen, and Pierce run and hide from them. |

Lakers were dead tired by the middle of
the 4th. When Ray Allen went left around Sasha V. late, he could not even move his feet. Same with Kobe on Pierce. He fouled Pierce at an important time because he was dead tired, he could not move his feet. Kobe has to work so hard. He is the major penetrator/playmaker and has to play on Pierce virtually alone. Kobe is essentially still a PG. The Celtics are playing much better help Defense. Thats why Allen and Pierce played big minutes and were still fresh. No legs, no D. And the Celtics are just more physical, it is wearing on the Lakers late. My take. Lets see how the Lakers get the game moving. They have got to take advantage of their mobility, cause they are not going to out wrestle the Celtics. |

The bad news continues as Bill Plaschke reports Kobe left the court with 3 seconds left.
The guy is unbelievable. |

What? You really think they are gunna get back up and try for a shot to extend the series to Boston? Why? If they had any champion in them, then they would have made shots in the late 3rd-4th quarter of this one. The only thing that could get their nuts back on is to win 3 in a row, and they can't do it in Boston. Just let it end. The more disgrace, the better chance they make changes to get more physical, but that isn't what beat them last night. What you saw, when the chips were down, was a team in green making shots, and the team in gold putting up brick after brick. In the 3rd quarter, Gasol missed the easiest of shots, and that was the pivotal shot of the game. The Celtics had made 2 runs at them already, and the Lakers had answered them. Honestly, I think they would have answered them a 3rd time if Gasol had just made that shot. The reason I say that is because the Celts fuel comes directly from missed shots by the opponent. You can call it what you want, but I think you take the responsibility off players like Gasol if you say that bucket he missed in the 3rd was because of defense. They just gagged on easy shots, and then they gagged on tougher shots. The Celts deserve credit for keeping the pressure on them, but the fact is the Lakers couldn't make shots. You're on your own court with a 6-10 point dwindling lead. You need to make a 3 pointer, or a couple outside shots (to match an opponent's bid .) They didn't do it. In game 2, the Celts made some shots (late) to hold off the same late bid. I don't think from a Championship standpoint it makes a difference (I don't think they were ever gunna win a game in Boston,) but this bunch has had their poor clutch shooting exposed. They made so much in the 1st half (when piling on,) and made nothing when the chips were down. It's a mistake to right this off as inexperience,or Boston defense. You can use those for reasons why the series is won, but this particular game was lost because of guys gagging on shots. Last edited by SCUDSBROTHER : 06-13-2008 at 01:21 PM. |

I have to agree that Kobe has some deficiencies in certain areas of his personality, but I think the guy who has what Kobe lacks is Fisher. Fish has all the team leadership qualities that were missing before he came back to the Lakers. He is very important to this team. He seems like a lot better player now, too. He seems better with age.

But Fischer is not a PG. At the two position much better. He is very slow. Very good hands but very slow. But with Kobe, you dont have to be a true point. If the Lakers had one of the other PG in the west, they would be impossible to beat. |
