How many years has Commentator competed in this race? And what is the record for the most starts in the Met Mile? Commentator has to be close to that record.

Has Commentator ever been entered once in the Met Mile? Not that I can remember?

Whoa, I am way off if he has never competed in the race. Oh well..wish him luck this year. A very fine horse and a nice little story.

If the record is zero, then yes, Commentator is on the verge of shattering it.

Personally, I'm bummed that Monterey Jazz scratched, because the last thing I want to see is Commentator be afforded an easy lead and win in 1:33, then we have to hear about how awesome he is for another four months.

I bet people are wishing they nominated some rabbits now. I guess the only question now is over/under 120 Beyer for Commentator. Should get his dream trip where he'll throw up another freakish performance.

It's a shame that Commentator is probably going to get loose, because First Defence and Divine Park are just as good, if not better than him.

Speaking of Commentator, has there been a pg1985 sighting since his Cowboy Cal-Court Vision exacta came up like 13th and 18th on Derby day?

I don't recall Commentator ever running in the Met Mile. Nick Zito trained Sun King ran in the 2006 and 2007 editions.

That's because he has never run in the Met.

Furthermore.......if all three horses were to get their preferred set ups.....who do you think would win?

Based on what?

First Defence got slaughtered in the Vosburgh and Divine Park has run exactly one decent race in his life. Nobody is saying Commentator doesn't have his limitations, but he has a resume which includes a handful of races that are significantly better than any race these horses have run.......but apparently they are " just as good. "

Both are 4YOs, who could improve, and Commentator is a 7YO with a lifetime of injuries. However, like or not, he's done it....and they haven't.

Based on my opinion. I think Commentator is only capable of a big race under perfect circumstances, while the other two can adapt and still run fast races. That makes them better to me. I like judging horses based on things other than speed figures.

I'm sorry you hate Commentator. It must make it hard for you to get through the day.

I bet Bobby Frankel ( ya know....he trains First Defence...when Dixie is unavailable ) and Kiaran McKlaughlin would laugh at your assertions. The fact is that Commentator has run many races better than either of the supposed better horses you unobjectively called better. Divine Park had a dream trip in his one good race. The rest of his races are somewhere between marginal and horrible. First Defence, so far, has disappointed in any real test he has had, save perhaps the King's Bishop. Comparing them to Commentator is beyond laughable.

When you get the pps for the Met Mile I suggest you take a good look at them. Have a self relflective moment.....and see just how ridiculous your statement was.

It would be nice to see native New Yorker Nick Zito win the Met Mile with a Tracy Farmer owned horse. The 2006 Met Mile was a heartbreaking loss when Silver Train held off the closing Sun King.

That explains the slow time (maybe), but it doesn't explain the inconsistency in the Beyers for the day.

right, fractions have nothing to do with Beyers.
