Oddly, a question for you popped up in my head.

At just the right moment, does your lover call you by Justin or Casino Drive?

How do you know I don't call my lover Casino Drive?

it's still only May, too soon to start deciding on HOY honors.

Agreed but in the scenario of Big Brown (if) he wins the TC, would you consider him a lock for HOY regardless of Curlin's success for the remainder of this year? If the answer is no, then would that make BB the first horse to win the TC that didn't win HOY?

The fact that Curlin is better and people know it.

At least to this point.

he's older, not necessarily better. big brown is the top 3 yo (which isn't saying much) and curlin is the top older horse (again, not saying much really). who knows what the second half of the year will bring? not me.

i am amused tho that so many feel big brown is a lock to win the tc. hasn't happened yet.

no, i wouldn't think winning the tc alone would guarantee hoy honors. it would go a long way towards it.
ieah says they fully intend to go on with the horse post-belmont, if all is well with the horse. but what else does anyone expect them to say? if he quits after the belmont(which win or lose i think will happen) and curlin wins the stephen foster and follows with something later this year....i expect curlin to get it. it should be for a years' worth of effort, not five weeks.
