Do you think he's at the "top of the market" now? Stated another way, is he worth as much now as he would be if he won the Triple Crown? If the answer to the last question is "yes," then I agree that doing the deal now makes sense.

The numbers that get tossed around now are so high that it is hard to believe that the market can sustain them especially with stud fees overall in decline. I guess he may be worth more if he wins the TC but if it is 20% more is it worth the risk of being 50% less if he gets drummed or breaksdown? Obviously those are just figures that i tossed out but if Darley isnt in the bidding then the top of the market for him may have already be reached. If he were to win the TC and retire undefeated I dont see him being book full at $200k a pop. It is hard to believe that he could be higher than 100k regardless of what he does so there is a ceiling.
