i don't want the cow tortured before i have dinner. i just want dinner.

try not to adopt the most ridiculous aspects of your opponent in a debate. i'm sure peta would love to put the first posts here in another fund raising letter to show the kind of people they're up against.
Sad but true.

PETA may be "extreme", but think about the forum you guys are in...this forum is the opposite end of the spectrum. The fans here are just as extreme in their views against PETA. The people that don't have horse racing knowledge would be the middle ground between PETA and horse racing fans. I think only people like that can objectively give a non biased opinion on the issues here.

I say Derby Trail is extreme in its criticism of PETA, yet I am a horse racing fan. I just think it's ridiculous to completely bash that organization continuously even though they bring some really valid points up.

Some people think Al-Queda has some valid points too

I think you're generalizing too much. From what I've read, some people are bashing PETA's extreme views & actions, while others have acknowledged their general view on animal treatment as understandable.

I wouldn't say all of us are on the opposite extreme. After college, I worked for Greenpeace for about a year. I'm very sympathetic to issues involving the humane treatment of animals. However, many PETA people, in my experience (and I knew a few personally back in the day), are only superficially about the ethical treatment of animals, and intrinsically about self-aggrandizement. The rest are misguided in their adoption of extremist stances on issues. For every person they sway, they polarize someone else against them. Issues aren't resolved this way -- they're set in concrete.
