The people who would have bet may have lost interest in the product. They may have started betting other tracks or bet sports other than racing. That's hard to put a value on (longterm loss.) Are you saying the Florida Horseman should have to take the cut in purses, but not the Kentucky horsemen? There is no way you can do this without hurting the other people involved (track, state, bettors.) It's a strike. Hasn't their stock gone down some? You've inconvenienced the other 2 parties involved, and hurt the overall product by driving people away from it(to find another product.) I think you should have the right to do it, but I don't think you should expect to be paid as usual. If members of your group start leaving for better purse somewhere, then they will have to start cancelling racing. Again, like in other strike situations. This really is a strike (it's just that the strikers don't want the resulting reduction in wages.) I don't think you're better than anyone else striking for more money. You want what you want. So, you should have to take the temporary financial hit (like anyone else would have to endure.)
Do you work for CDI? Because you make about as much sense as they do. Purses arent rewards. They are our share taken from the handle. The horseman are using their rights as stated by the LAW in blocking signals as a tactic in negotiating just as CD is using the cutting of purses. The difference is if CD cuts purses too drastically where there is an underpayment based upon our contractual %, they have to make up the difference (i.e. raise the purses) eventually.

So,you can't stop them from cutting purses, right? Unless you stop entering horses, right? Why have the discussion then? I would certainly expect them to want to delay paying people that are keeping some of their customers from betting. I don't think it makes sense for trainers etc. to think a track is gunna keep paying them the same purses while they block internet players. How does that make any sense? Just take your hit like anybody else that wants to strike. Hit your buddy Andruw Jones up for a loan.
