just out of curiousity how do they cut the purses of the stakes races which in the condition book will say guaranteed money, for example CRC has some overnight stakes which had $55,000 "guaranteed" purse onoly to be dropped to $36,000?

Obviously the word guarantee doesnt mean much anymore. I sent a package out last week that was guaranteed by UPS to be somewhere at 10am the next day. It wasnt there on time. No refunds either.

OBLIGATORY LAME UPS/BIG BROWN JOKES:

-Maybe the driver had to break from post 20.

-I guess the early pace was slower than expected.

-Perhaps the driver had a wide trip.

-I'll bet they still beat Monba.
