I think if you look at the 10th race you could make a case that the track speeded up a little bit.

I thought I said that already.

My thoughts watching were the maiden was more impressive. I only looked at the longer races to get a quick measure, will look at the whole card tomorrow.

But did you say it in the form of a question?

You are correct...I merely stated it as fact.

Did you watch the headon closely; especially on the backstretch?

No, just the live feed. He won so easy I'm not sure I'll ever watch that head on. What am I missing?

2nd time starter running right up against the rail, had to be worst part of the track, till he entered the stretch; probably did at least half the backstretch lefty, as well. I realize he saved ground while the 5 was outside.

Kent is either the most confident jock out there or he's nuts. He almost never rides the rail (not like this) and he can't be that familiar with this horse to trust him the way he did.

do they run clockwise or counter in Japan?

My mistake, thought you meant the other horse from the 5th.

Haven't posted here in awhile, but I had to after Casino Drive.......although why am I not surprised that he didn't get that good of a Beyer ? Wouldn't you think that running 1:47 and change would be sufficient for at least triple digits?

I think this is a case where the numbers don't tell the whole story. Casino Drive hadn't run in almost two months, had to deal with an extremely long trip and also quarantine. His trainer didn't even feel that he'd be all that sharp today. I was pretty much WOW'D by his race.......He didn't break well at all, but the colt just dragged Kent up into the race; you could tell he had running on his mind. Then, he went between horses like it was no big deal and took off - no loafing, no cause for worry, no anything. Casino Drive looked great in the paddock and was full of life, bucking several times, but I didn't think he'd run like that (though I hoped he would in my dreams).
