I didn't bet the race, as what was initially very interesting quickly became a no play due to the scratches (and odds), and NW was probably not going to beat the winner but

I can't understand why jocks are allowed to drift significantly in the stretch -- in this case because of OVERUSE of lefty whip.

If you're trying to put a horse in a drive and some idiot takes your path it completely defeats the purpose of the long stretch and relative insignificance of ground loss.

Why are jocks allowed by the stewards to drift 5 or so paths with their horses?
