Wink

Again 1x4x6x8x8 = 600

"1 x 4 x 5 x 6 x 5 =$600. my bad." = 144

God aren't you supposed to know all ??? I'd ditch whatever I was using to do the calculation and download the dang calculator...

1 x 4 x 6 x 8 x 8 = $1536

if i box 3 horses in a trifecta, the calculation isn't 3 x 3 x 3. that would be $27. It's 3 x 2 x 1 = $6 for a $1 tribox.

same thing with the structure of your super 5. i made a mistake in my original calculation and rechecked it when you posted. you have a single, followed by 4 selections in 2nd, 5 in 3rd, 6 in 4th, and 5 in 5th.

Actually No. What confuses me is that you keep posting a bet structure that I didn't make. You post 1 x 4 x 5 x 6 x 5 when the bet was 1 x 4 x 6 x 8 x 8. Help me out here, did you mean to post 1 x 4 x 5 x 6 x 5 ? If so why ?

when you have the same horses in different positions on a vertical bet like an exacta, trifecta, etc., you calculate the individual bets made by multiplying the distinct runners in each place on the bet.

an easy example was the one i posted earlier about the cost of a 3 horse trifecta box.

assuming a $1 betting unit, the cost of that box is $6 arrived at by multiplying 3 distinct betting interests in the win position times 2 distinct betting interests in the place position and a single distinct betting interest in the show position. 3 x 2 x 1 = 6. if one of your horses finished first, he can't finish 2nd or 3rd so you only have 2 distinct interest in the place position. and so on.

your $600 super 5 was 600 $1 bets. the calculator you're using is figuring this out by multiplying the distinct starters you have in each "leg" of that bet. you know that 4 x 6 is 24. and 24 x 8 is 192. and 192 x 8 is 1536. so why isn't your ticket $1536? (1 x 4 x 6 x 8 x 8)

because you don't have 6 distinct starters in the place position. or 8 distinct starters in 4th. or 8 distinct starters in 5th.

you had 1 horse in the win, 4 in the place, 5 in show (because you used the same 4 horses you had in the place position here and one of them would be subtracted since they can't finish both 2nd and 3rd), 6 in 4th place, and 5 in 5th place for the same reason.

4 x 5 = 20. 20 x 6= 120. 120 x 5 = 600. 1 x 4 x 5 x 6 x 5.

just keep using the calculator. it works for you. the only reason i even brought up the calculation was because i made a mistake going over your ticket originally.

These things aren't worth playing unless you have a huge bankroll IMO. . . Harder than a PK6. . .

i disagree...6 of us put in 60 apiece and put together a real nice ticket...

abc/abc/abcdefg/abcdefg/abcdefg...only missed the 11 horse in the 4th leg...

best part is it is impossible for 6 people to agree on a pick 6, but putting 7 horses from 1 race on 1 ticket is doable
