Totally agree with your perspective Jim. I think the fractures occured after she collapsed, for whatever reason. Very sad. Also agree with Deb. It's a sick part of the sport I try not to think about.

A note on her pedigree. x2 to Mr Propspector, x3 to Raise A Native, x4 to Native Dancer. This is a high wire act of breeding in that one runs a lot of risk for unsoundness by crossing all these unsound influences.

yeah, he does. jones said it was the jock who first told him about eight belles-that she'd already been put down-larry jones didn't realize at first there was a problem til he saw the rider coming back on donna brothers' horse.

A smiling Jones was shown after the race walking down the track with Asmussen to unsaddle their horses. NBC had already reported the injury, but the poor guy had no idea what had happened.

On Good morning America right now.

No new news rally as far as an explaination. Asked if horses are being bred to cause such things as breakdowns, said you want to bred a fast horse
