Why he was that far back off slow fractions like that makes me wonder too. He has the speed to have led yesterday, instead of loping a few lengths behind a horse who has proven to be "remarkably" game when allowed to set easy fractions.
Tim you are a friend but I really want you to read over this thread and remember it the next time you go to bash a horse. I KNOW that something is wrong with Artie because he would never run that poorly and the front wraps were a bad omen. I will also remember his great races. But you will note that I am not bashing him. In this particular case because you know the connections and like the horse you are not bashing a short priced disappointment. Next time the shoe is on the other foot try and act the same way ok?
Artie Schiller has always been a talented horse who ran some HUGE races. He may have lacked a little in consistency, but when it was his day, boy could he be special. If he is indeed done, I'm sure he will make a fine sire someplace and at age 5, hes raced in 4 different campaigns and has earned the fine life he will get.
