I believe that the writer of the story may have taken some literary license in suggesting that BB winning the Derby automatically will have him commanding 100k at stud. Or that Kip DeVille or Benny the Bull will be big time stallions.

they compared his potential to smarty jones...but i would take the line that boundary (pensioned btw) is no elusive quality. a horse winning the derby does not automatically equal a 100k stud fee. just ask giacomo or street sense.

BBs Fla Derby was against slow horses yet one of these is the most prepared and ready to beat him. How can you justify"the sheets" that says this? the same posters that knock BB use his fla derby race to flatter Smoth Air. I guess this proves that you can use facts and distort them to mean anything you want. Kip Deville ptobably hasnt become a 100k stud but Kipling has doubled his value.

Just in defense of ARAZI, don't crap on the horse. He was finished once they took him across the ocean and the finishing touch was the knee surgery at the end of his two year old year.

Isn't Big Brown significantly "inbred" for a top notch stallion? I might agree that $30 Mil for BB if he wins the Derby might be realistic, but I think $100k at stud is a little much...

if he won't command six figures, he can't sell for 30 million-how would the breeder earn his money back? farms want to 'get out' after just a few years-usually before the 2 yo's start running, since they might not be that fast, and demand will drop like a stone for a sire with slow progeny.
