If I heard right, no one hit 5 of 6 at Aqueduct today.

Some notes for KEE P6 Weds...

R6: Read the clocker's comments on #2, Sky Mission. John Ward is a master at getting nothing out of something but this homebred might be something even he can't screw up, and Prado hops on. #6 Butler Rock "Speedy gate move while being roused in the stretch", Graham/Fox is an excellent longshot connection and this one should be ready first out, especially with that pedigree. #7 Bayrod had an absolute nightmare trip first out, ran up and nearly clipped heels twice, and got sent into the rail on the turn. Form says "steadied" but I'd call it more like "nearly pulled up". Worth another look. #8 Nafzger/Borel/Tafel always worth a 2nd look but this one has NO talent. #12 Full Charge worked in company with Visionaire and got his doors blown off by that one. Would think he's worth excluding here, despite coming out of a key SAR MSW.

R7 #4 Closeout is an absolute standout. It isn't fun singling in a 12 horse field, but watch the replay of her debut; walks out of the gate and spots them 15 lengths, and still blows them away.

R8 #6 Korbyn Gold looks tough but I'm also using #1 Last Gran Standing, clockers are all over this one with "best work of day" comments. Looks like Korbyn's only competition if he's ready, and it sounds like he is. Werner's horse looks tough but I don't think he's fast enough at 6 1/2.

Phil, in the 6th, check out Ecton Road, I remember this horse taking alot of action last time and running pretty well.

I can't believe you are touting Ward right now

I'll use Ecton Road defensively, he took some money on Fl Derby day off some pretty average works, and basically did nothing with a good trip. One poor work since but Desormeaux sticks around and this race is WIDE open.

I must be sick... I absolutely detest Ward.

It's not like you to be so negative about a horseman. Ward is a fairly accomplished 2 year old trainer which you probably know a lot more about than me. Why so strong a feeling about this guy?

two reasons- one, no one gets more with less. he has one of the strongest owner/breeders in the world in Oxley, and his combined record in '08? 0-fer 12. second, he is the king of wasted stall space. i don't remember the exact numbers but i believe he had 20 stalls at saratoga last year and ran a grand total of like 8 times at the meet. people complaining about short fields? well guys like him are the reason.

I don't know if the trouble was that pronounced, though the horse certainly wasn't asked late. But, it seems as if Edgar Prado has made quite a habit lately of getting squeezed on the rail going into the turn. I realize that many of the jocks down in Florida (and generally) are idiots and don't think twice about coming in on the turn and pinching the inside horse BUT I'd except someone who has been riding as long as Prado has to be aware of, and compensate for, this.
It's obvious the stewards will never take action and put an end to this, until, I suppose, someone is killed as a result of it.
