Doc...I hope I'm not posting this too close to the anniversary, but I was curious about something that was mentioned briefly in one of the Chicago papers recently. As part of a larger article, it referenced that (and I'm not sure which) every family who lost a child either received or shared a $12 Million settlement from the State. Was this due to an admission of guilt by the State as to how VA Tech handled that day, or was it for other reasons?

It wasn't every family who lost a child but a good many of those and the injured who lived which in itself is a very under reported story. Some editorials view this as a way to cut down on future law suits by narrowing the number of families who are eligible. It is by no means the final word here and the state has not publicly admitted guilt.
