Please remember -- you can't wash stupid off!
And to make this story more curious -- Dr. Phil (you know TV pop psychologist doc) is involved now. One of his staff paid bail for alledged "ring leader". Doc has already issued statement that staffer overstepped authority or some other nonesense. As I always say, "you can't make this stuff up."

you mean the dr phil who can't even practice in his home state of texas? lost his license due to 'improprieties with a patient'. i can't believe people still watch his show. or maybe they don't, which is why a staffer got involved. no such thing as bad pr.
as for the beatdown, i have no idea what the story is-and don't feel like looking it up either. |

It is a good little snap shot of society and illustrates beautifully the lack of personal responsibility that we turn to when something goes wrong. It was the jock's fault. If he had just... Take your beating and shut up. YOU made the bet. Last edited by pgardn : 04-13-2008 at 12:33 PM. |

The progress of the War is on every single day. There is an update, through military (some with harsh interrogation) everyday where? Since you got a gazillion channels. And who watches Fox anyway? The war is not going away anytime soon no matter who is elected. So once you get the time, and the right channel, You can keep us updated. |

It really amazes me that girls of this age could do this, not the sick idea but the amount of damage, they are all like 90lbs soaking wet......it is even sicker that the girl that was getting pummeleed didn't just start throwing haymakers, because those girls would have stopped....grab something, a light, umbrella, throw the TV on the floor, do something that distracts them, kick out a window.....
This totally smells like a 'popular' school girl group and this girl that got hurt was trying to be friends with them. it is reasons like this that they cancelled our "powder puff" football games (where the Senior girls would take on the Junior girls) and stuff about two years after I was out of high school, it got way out of control. So much unchecked aggression... What is even worse is that my guess is that some of these parents think they have good hearted kids, and are probably good people, and they are on the hook from the lawsuit that will come down from it. I think he likes me. It is not news that Fox News puts a wonderful light on the War when things are going well, and then diverts when things are bad. And things are bad right now. So what did you expect? The war is not going so great since the "Iraqi Government's" little military foray. But that was not the subject of my post. I was looking for some sort of discussion about the lack of personal responsibility, that imo eats away at the fabric of our society. I did not get this story from Fox. NY times. And of course they had a video link. I see this as an example of a signficant shift that has been taking place for a good while now. I would like to know if I am imagining trends, and if I am not, why have we seen this trend. Ex. We got to go on field trips to all sorts of places when I was in school. We got to do some learning outside of the class. Teachers in my district are basically told, "dont go anywhere, the district is liable." Keep the kids inside in the class. Their parents will sue the crap out of us if anything happens. So as a consequence no more amusement park physics or anything like this anymore. No figuring acceleration of a roller coaster, etc... Nothing real outside class. This is only in my small world. Just wondering how widespread. And this little ordeal in the original post is an indication of the blame game that imo, is rot. And not helplful to the country as a whole. Sorry you have to work out in front of TV. Outside can be a nice place. |
