The tax on the car depends on his current tax bracket. He will have to pay a tax on the fair market value of the car. I am sure he has a good accountant that puts him in a low tax bracket.

He is more talking about having to pay sales tax on the Vette. I think he also has to claim it as a prize won, which means 25% off the top, so about 9k because of prize won + sales tax

Anyone that is dropping 600k on a horse, obviously is doing pretty well to start.

I am pretty sure that in Cali he doesnt have to pay the sales tax. All he has to pay is the fair market value of the car based on his tax bracket. But I could be wrong....but like the one paster said..."if he is buying $600k babies, he could care less about the tax,"

To clarify......twas a nice job of cappin and putting together a big paying ticket....not looking for the dark cloud here just saying that after the withholding on the winnings and the taxes on the 'vette there will not be alot left over to help pay for the 600k filly.

In addition to the Corvette, Scardino noted that the $105,208 will come in handy. “Alex Solis Jr. picked out a 2-year-old filly in training at Keeneland and we just bought her yesterday,” he said. “She went for $600,000, so this helps.”
