So just because she's "used to" something means she has to do it for the rest of her life? She's of slight build, and smaller horses often perk up when they're turned back to sprinting (can't think of a more relevant example than Top Royelle, who's as small as they come). In my view, she's got a nice kick, but it gets dulled around two turns, so I think a turf sprint would be a worthwhile experiment if we found the right spot. Never said anything about that being the "obvious conclusion", so don't put words in my mouth.
I agree and disagree

just figure a mile was shorter and she ran worse. Probably another reason for it.

she could clean house at the River if they had enough races for her. the turf there is perfect for her style.

The difference between a two-turn mile-and-a-sixteenth race and a two-turn mile race is negligible, so it's not like it was some drastic cutback.

Just think a turf sprint is worth a shot if the right spot comes up.

my thinking is that the route distance has dulled her speed and her work out times are on the slow side. Was it 1:03 or 1:05 5f. That doesn't give me a ton of confidence she will fire going 5 1/2.

I guess shortening her up may put speed back in and improve her late kick.

She wasn't interested in running last time out. She didn't care where the wire was.

That's the one thing that would concern me about going 5 1/2. If there were seven-furlong one-turn turf sprints, I'd say go there, but unless we go to Belmont, it'd be 5 or 5 1/2.

I saw KNS this morning in her nice big stall at Keeneland, she looks fine :-)

TC said hello to everyone. Said he liked the Dee Tee folks he met in Tampa - apparently you guys are some kind of fun "They show up, and they are all in the paddock, smiling; and they lose, and they are STILL smiling!"

Wow, not sure I needed to read this post right after the Carolina loss. As one who was in attendence for 3 of the 4 KnS starts including this past Tuesday, were we disappointed with the last race results? Sure. Is a class drop in order? Probably so. Will the race results keep me and the others partners from smiling and having a great time? ABSOLUTELY NOT!!!

The partners who I have had the pleasure of meeting are all greatly appreciative of the opportunity that Chuck and Steve have provided us. If smiling and having a great time is crazy then I need to be committed.

what you said, is what i really wanted to say. the guy is doing a good job with the horse, the horse needs a class drop and it seems to be a problem with certain people

Look we're doing this primarily for the fun of owning a horse and everything that comes with it...loosing & injuries are two of them. No one wants us to get a win more that Steve and Chuck I assure you. Chucks talents are proven with what he's done with these horses.

If a class drop is coming, so be it. If we head for some grade 1 stakes so be it. Yes, it's a fun ride and we thank all that are making it possible. We have our opinions, but we respect our our leaders.

Spyder from SC

PS: Sorry about last night Heels, I was routing for you.
