Seriously though, would you and/or Steve be open to running her in a turf sprint if you can find a cheap one somewhere? Not sure where, as you guys probably know condition books way better than I do. |

I don't understand. She gets used to going a route distance of 1 1/16th. (toss the mudd effort going 1 1/8th against tougher) She goes a mile and doesn't fire at all so the obvious conclusion is to go 5 1/2 on the grass?
I don't think she would like the turf course at Keeneland. Don't know what to think. Turn her out until Tampa opens next winter ![]()

I think she would fit great at Arlington...Certainly fair to closers and big wide turns so she doesn't get too covered up and has room to get rolling. Plus you have the poly angle if races are off the turf and the level of competition is realistic

So just because she's "used to" something means she has to do it for the rest of her life? She's of slight build, and smaller horses often perk up when they're turned back to sprinting (can't think of a more relevant example than Top Royelle, who's as small as they come). In my view, she's got a nice kick, but it gets dulled around two turns, so I think a turf sprint would be a worthwhile experiment if we found the right spot. Never said anything about that being the "obvious conclusion", so don't put words in my mouth. |

Chuck, how's she doing one day removed from the race after that effort?

As another venue suggestion, what about Delaware? The money's decent, the fields are small, and if you fatten her up a little, she maybe could pass for an Arabian.

just figure a mile was shorter and she ran worse. Probably another reason for it.

she could clean house at the River if they had enough races for her. the turf there is perfect for her style.

I assume you personally are going to pay for that? Chuck shells out enough money for the DT horses as it is.... if he wants to run her for a nickel at suffolk you all should celebrate,

It wasn't her day...I'm sure she'll get the right spot sooner or later. We've had 10 starts with four 2nds and a 3rd.
I for one am not complaining, it's been a fun ride.
