I don't think he's getting "better and better". Still a nice win against a bunch of dogs.

Curlin was three wide a half a lenght from the lead and waited till they turned for home to move to the lead and won by 6 or 7. Whats to see?

With Happy Boy scratching - that field looked incredibly shaky besides for Curlin.

I would rate his Breeders Cup Classic win as clearly a better performance than his World Cup win.

According to the bloodhorse page, they should be showing it on ABC at 2:30. If not then, I'm sure they will on ESPN2 when they show the Florida Derby this afternoon.

A grudging thanks to NYC OTB channel for showing it right after it happened. I guess it was just more important to show the 2nd replay of AQ's 3rd race than to show it live.

Well Armed was (faintly) on the Kentucky Derby radar two years back and then disappeared. It's nice to see he grew into a pretty nice horse.

vs well armed and asiatic boy, he shouldn't need to be asked.

i like the horse, but not the humans connected with him. i almost vomited in my mouth a little when the guy referred to him as big red. but maybe i missed the lead in question--'give an example of hyperbole'.

Yes, congrats, Paul!

Wish we could see Curlin back in the US. Wish we could see what more good 3-year-old colts turn out to look like at 4 or 5.

good point.. i was thinking about this myself especially when Meydan opens in 2010 with a $10million purse. surely that might make a few owners think twice about retiring straight after a 3yo career.

That's a contractual issue. NYC OTB had no choice. NYRA didn't show it live either or it's fans would have seen in "on time." I had the NYRA feed and the Dubai feed in front of me during the race. All NY did was move the 2nd back to 1:24. How 'bout that Wild Geese??!

I hope so Brock, but I doubt it! Anyway, a wonderful performance by Curlin...who did he beat? Every horse brave enough (or foolish enough) to challenge him. Hard to believe that he's only been running slightly over a year...had they not rushed him to the Derby he could easily be undefeated (I'm basing that on him being a lot fresher for the Belmont had he started in the Preakness rather than the Derby)...conjecture I know but this is a really really nice animal!
