Heyyyy. You gonna have to give the PP's alittle while to mature. I am just glad that alot of them are being kept by there breeders, that way they will be given the time to mature. I just love him, as my screename shows!!

Pleasantly Perfect was a great racehorse. I was a fan of his. I don't blame you for being a big PP fan.

looks like 2009 (or was that a yearling, which would be 2010) is the year we'll have a triple crown winner.

Who's the dam, what does it look like, how fast did it work? These are also factors in how much the horse goes for at a 2yo in training sale. Makes more sense than $16 million for a Forestry, anyway.

Speaking of 16 million horses has anyone heard how "he who must remain nameless" is taking to being a man on the prowl??

They haven't been setting the track on fire at the 2yo sales.

And speaking of scorched earth - William Tecumseh Sherman was far too kind to those who commited treason if you ask me.

The horse in question sold for $140K as a yearling.

He obviously was impressive in his preview and has moved forward the last six months.

How is it so hard to figure out why a Friends Lake is selling for $450k? He was a GI winner by a GI winner out of a GI winner. Doesn't seem entirely unlikely to me.

15K is his fee. The owner of American Thoroughbred Review threw a fit over his stud fee back in 2005:

For a socalled breeding expert you seem to be off the mark on Friends Lakes breeding. He is by AP Indy, the premier sire in American racing. He is out of Antespend who won 3 grade 1's and over 1 million dollars on the track. She has produced 3 foals of running age, one is FL, a grade 1 winner and another is Seeking the Ante who is a Grade 2 winner. Antespends dam, Auspiciante, was also a multiple grade 1 winner and graded stakes producer.

Friends Lake is the best looking stallion at Airdrie (IMO) is very well balanced and well made especially for a son of AP Indy. I would think that he has at least as good a chance as Proud Citizen or Harlans Holiday, both of which are Airdrie success stories with 1st crops as 3 year olds.

I believe Friend's Lake was a homebred. How much do you think he would have sold for at public auction Chuck?

I don't know Cannon....

I'm pretty well aware of the positives about Friends Lake myself - and I still expected him to suck as a stallion.

He was an awful race horse. I have no idea where the speed in these drills are coming from with his babies.
