Actually, there are a couple of horses that can run a little that could well show up. I wouldn't be surprised to see Lear's Princess in there. Spring Waltz, the Stronach filly that won the Rampart at Gulfstream yesterday, looks like she may be OK ( now that she is racing on real dirt ). I have no idea where Lady Joanne is but I suppose it's not impossible she runs.

On a little tangent here, but that was a brutal stretch call by Wallace. He's so busy creaming his pants because Kettleonup is being "shot out of a cannon" that if you are just listening to his call, you have no idea that Brownie Points is moving up to run a clear-cut 2nd. Kettleonup didn't even finish in the money for cripes sake.

Hystericalady's last 5 dirt races have resulted in 4 wins and one narrow 2nd place finish to sweet trip Ginger Punch in the BC Distaff.

She's winless in four tries on a synthetic - losing to a claimer last time out - and wasting a super easy trip and still getting run down by Tough Tiz's Sis two back on synthetic.

Her pair of losses to Noshoba's Key came in just career starts #4 and #5 for NK, and they were very conclusive losses to a very lightly raced filly.

and i read this morning in the ark paper that she's returning to cali--no decision as to whether she'll return for the apple blossom. if it was me, she'd stay and aim for that. but what do i know?

She's running in the Apple Blossom.

You can pencil her in...in fact, she will be on a plane with her stablemate Heatseeker for the OP Handicap that same day.

Trainers seem to think that by pretending like they have other options to look at - they can sway the racing secretary into assigning a little more favorible weight spread for the race.

One of the funniest ones of late was Baffert refusing to enter Tough Tiz's Sis in the Grade 1 at SA on Sunday because she was assigned 118 pounds, 4 less than Nashoba's Key.

First of all, Bobby, she won a Grade 1 race over the track (albeit over a perfect trip Hystericalady who can barely stand up on synthetics) - second of all, Mr. Baffert, that field was moderate and Tough Tiz's Sis would have been no more than 3/1 or 7/2.

When an assigned 118lbs is enough to get a 3/1 or 7/2 shot scratched from a Grade 1 stake ... you know you are talking about racing in the 21st century.

i figure the logical choice would be to run her there next month--i guess that's why i was surprised to see that they were flying her back...hell of a way to get a break from the secretary.

but i wasn't quite as surprised at that news as i was that ginger bay (6 lifetime starts) is retiring to be a broodmare after her stakes win--a knee chip.

then the news on silver lord, who we all saw try to veer left at the start the other day in the NO handicap...they were hoping to go from there to the oaklawn handicap, but now the trainer is looking for a race-that unless he can find something in a hurry, silver lord will not be in arkansas mid-april...

She's going to run in a 100K stake at Sunland Park next Sunday. Baffert is also shipping in his Deputy Wild Cat madien Screen to Screen to run in the Win Star Derby that same day.

i never paid attention to his calls--i really don't pay attention to any of them--but after he was brought up a few weeks ago on here, i started listening.

he's not that good.
