Jim, your story makes me think of a very dopey ex-friend of mine. He bets a ton of money, and in the old days when we all bet with tellers, I can't tell you the number of times he would mispunch ( always claiming it was the first time he ever did it ) and miss a big tri or other such good score. Well, once at Saratoga he showed up with this lament while I was with a very sharp non-horseplayer friend of mine. After the dope left my sharp friend said " Imagine all the times he has mispunched and mistakenly had a winning ticket and thrown it away. "
