i am so excited... this quote is off drf.com

Mr. Farmer would love to win the Whitney with him again," said Zito. "He beat the Horse of the Year, Saint Liam, in 2005, and to do it again at the age of 7 would be the ultimate. He's had his share of problems along the way, but we'll keep him together the best we can and hope everything works out. He's a gelding, so he'll be running for the fans to watch - and that includes me, because I'm a fan myself."

2 time whitney winner ? hall of famer ?

In all seriousness, is there a faster horse in recent memory that is so tied to being loose on the lead?

war emblem was fast, not this fast though

today he was pressed early and kept going, which is something he has never done, also a great sign since he is pointing to the whitney.

And beating up on Rexson's Rose made you draw this conclusion?

Final speed figures are an important tool but don't tell the whole story. The figures must be viewed in terms of the trip, and the competition. Elite Squadron is not a stakes quality speedball. Commentator has already proven that when he faces inferior rivals, he will run it up and put up a monster number. When you are 1-5 you are expected to blow away the competiton.

But do you think he would win?
Why are you holding out on us?
I want to know if you think Commentator would beat Curlin at the following distances:

1 1/8?
9 furlongs?
1 2/16?
8.5 furlongs (plus another half furlong)?

I wait for your answer. Also, be sure to leave out what other horses are entered in this hypothetical race, what the surface and pace are like, and other useless things like that. I just want you to tell me in some vague and meaningless way, who you think would win.

I don't think Commentator would beat him at 7f let alone the longer distances. Kind of reminds me when Unbridled faced Housebuster at 7f and we remember how that turned out.

No offense, but the only person I am interested in hearing from on this question is jcs11204.

What am I missing here.

Could you let us know what #'s you are looking at?

Commentator's final time for the 7f was 1:23.23.

Curlin's last breeze before he left for Dubai was 7f in 1:23.60.

Curlin's maiden, on the same track, same distance, I think, was faster. And he didn't even know how to run at that time.

This is a joke, right?

As is your post. Raw times while racing mean little. Workout times mean less.
