I know I will regret responding to this.

he's a very fast horse, and a very good horse....with very real physical issues. He's 7 years old and has only made what 18 starts?

as for the Curlin thing....WTF? no comment.

I just hung up on Nick, luckily I saw the original post while we were talking and I was able to convince him not to ship Commentator over for the Dubai World Cup.

I just hope he discouraged him from trying to sound like the Italian Don King when the press comes around looking for quotes.

As for the World Cup, he'd be loose as can be in there - and might pull a Moon Ballad.

It would be a very high risk/reward decision to run there.

I don't know about that, pg. Visionaire won the Gotham and KYRIM had a wp wager on him. I'd say Visionaire is the best horse in the country right now.

he defeated a champion going 1 1/8, what is the problem ?

First of all, it's bad enough you are posting at all, but repeating your posts should be a criminal offense. Secondly, why are you quoting a response I made to another poster as though I am speaking to you ( try to answer only once )?

The problem with Commentator has never been his talent.....the problem ( duh ) is keeping him sound. He is a 7YO, who has made 17 starts in what is now his 5th year of racing, so just hold your horses before you start planning too ambitious a campaign for him. First and foremost, hope he stays sound, and then perhaps, just perhaps, he will get a chance to run up to his true ability....wherever he runs.

who is better then him right now in america ? please answer that, anywhere from 7 furlongs to 1 1/8, who is better ?

I hate it when horses with as much talent as this one can't stay sound. It is also hard to tell if you don't have inside information on the animal, when they are feeling their best and ready to go and win, or they put in a clunker of a race because they are hurting a bit. I have seen Commentator be absolutely brillant, and seen him have performances that would have left me scratching my head if he didn't have such a low number of starts all these years.

Glad you talked him out of sending him to Dubai. Definitely the right decision. Now, maybe he can win some more GIs in the states with proper timing and management.
