Lopez took daaher out of the race then almost won, but at that point both were exhausted and the distance horse -Moonshine, kind of one paced it for the win. Evening Attire was flat.

Daaher faced a faster pace early, he faced a second turn, and he packed it in like he did in the Donn.

To be honest, I did think that he was much too good for this field to lose but there was no way that I thought he was 1/5 better than them. This race tells me that the Donn was not the throwout race that all of the people that are smarter than me and told me I was an idiot was. People said the Donn was a throwout because Daaher was obviously a better horse than he showed and because I simply asked "how do you know that when he hadn't faced the conditions that the Donn presented", I was attacked as an idiot and basically an unknowledgeable race watcher.

Andy should set up a "racewatching" course so that unknowledgeable fans can become certified in watching races and their opinions could not be further disparaged by the "racing experts".

When have I ever not been? It's just sad that you feel that you always have to be right.

Now, I haven't been following the other races at AQU today, and I'm basing this on today's charts, so the following might be completely off but:

What I find totally IRONIC about the whole thing, and it's more a digusting kind of irony, is that of all the pieces of **** that have won this winter because of inside, speed biases, the NYRA crew has a fair track for this race. I understand how it would be important that the "GOOD" horses don't get the benefit of a bias, in other words, that it's fair for all involved but if we can get the track to play fair TODAY why can't we have a consistently fair track? Or is it acceptable for shitty horses to win with a bias?

am i missing the point? it sounds as tho, even tho you said daaher was not a good horse, you still picked him to win today, albeit not at the odds he went off at, and now that he lost (even tho you picked him) you were correct in saying he wasn't that good?

Yes, you are missing the point. I do think Daaher is a good horse. I did think he would crush this field today. I haven't ever said he's not good. I only said that I didn't think he was AS good as the Cigar looked. I only said after the Donn, when our resident Gods were saying that the race was a throwout because Daaher was better than that and that something had to be wrong with him, that maybe the reason he got drubbed there was because of the conditions of the race and not the condition of the horse. What I think today showed was that he's not anywhere close to the same horse when the pace is faster and there is a second-turn, especially against stakes runners, as he is going one-turn on a moderate to soft pace. I had said then NOT to write the race off because Daaher had never done anything under that race's conditions to prove that the Donn was an abberration. If anything, today's race showed me that it wasn't.

CONGRATS!!! for being right about the Donn when the racing gods were wrong.

put on the dunce cap though for thinking Daaher was going to crush them today after the debacle he had in the Donn.

feel better now?
