If he had a better post position he would have won easily.
I think the outside post cost him about 32-34 lengths, and he only lost by 29.

Why is it so hard to crack (or even get close to) 23 seconds for the QTR going a mile at GP? You'd think they were going 2 turns by the fractions that have been conistently posted this meet.

I'm no expert (obviously), and I know he ran against rats.. but just watching that horse move I had to ask myself "What other 3 year old is going to beat him?"

In a one-turn mile like this race I think it is pretty clear that there is no other 3yo that could beat him right now in a fairly run race.
What happens at 9f and beyond is still a question, but I wouldn't bet against him right now.

Very little run up at the back of the chute.

Useless race to analyze. I don't think he gets 10 panels.

Me either. At the risk of being ridiculed (LOL), he looked pretty fragile too.

Maybe not, but man is he a nice horse. He just essentially WORKED a mile faster than most 3YO stakes are being run. The more Derby preps I see, the more I think he may be able to hang on the 10F. This is NOT the 2007 class by any means.

Have you seen how bad he wings that front left, Phil? I dunno... I'm a little concerned. Believe me, I'd like to see him go all the way in the Derby, but the longer he runs, the more he wings that leg out and I don't like that one bit.

I agree. Right now, there are few 3YO's fast enough to keep up with him, if he's loose at all or gets even reasonable fractions on Derby Day, I believe he can carry that speed the extra furlong needed.

Pyro? I'm not ready to toss Court Vision (slow as he may be) out yet either.
