And most of these wretches grew out of the "flower children...everyone's your brother / sister" era.

You could probably still see Buddy Guy today for a $10 cover charge and still have more fun and "ah don't care's" than a barrel of elitist, overhyped, grossly overpaid drunks and drug addicts.
First of all.......you don't have $250.

Now that I've gotten that out of the way......I highly doubt you can see Buddy Guy for $10 unless you run into him on the street.

Oh that's friggin' low.

But if I did...I still wouldn't.

Oh really?

It wasn't that long ago he would play local, little spots for the very same opposite reason these archaic rapists play the big bucks scene

And I did TOO meet those 3 guys.

I agree that concert prices are clearly out of control but I honestly think it's not completely because of greed by performers. What has happened is that so many seats, especially good seats, end up in the hands of scalpers, due to the corrupt Ticketmaster ( that only the Dead and Pearl Jam had the balls to take on ), and these scalpers marked up the prices substantially. The increased prices became almost a necessity in order to minimalize scalping.

I understand it's an excuse, and Pearl Jam and Springstein seem to be about the only two who are willing to put forth the effort to counteract scalpers, but it is a big picture.

I wanted to see Neil Young earlier this year but refused to pay over $200 a ticket. It sucks.

I am seeing Clapton and Winwood Monday.

I can't remember the group they put together briefly, but the album was great stuff...a rather risque cover.

Even so.....if you're paying more than $50....don't tell me.

Actually, I'm only going because the seats aren't great, and thus are only around $60. I would never have paid $250.

Frankly, as much as I loved Clapton years ago, I think he sucks these days. Hearing Dear Mr. Fantasy, however, might be worth the price.

I really liked Traffic and the old Clapton stuff (Neil Young too, of course) but when they sold out or whatever happened and started doing the "pop" stuff....

Haven't heard them in forever but I'd love to see Winwood do Dear Mr. Fantasy, Low Spark, stuff from John Barleycorn, a couple of things from When the Eagle Flies (which no one else liked).

Blind Faith was great. I still have one of their bootlegs.

Wonder whatever happened to Rich Grech.

Is Ginger Baker still alive?

Wouldn't pay to see this concert with Sting.....

Saw him do Mr Fantasy at Clapton's Crossroads Guitar fest last summer here. Best part of a great show.

What does "Low Spark of HHB's" mean?? Never could figure that out
